Tone · Texture · Pigment · Hair removal
Nothing here changes the shape of your face. It changes how light behaves on it.
Pigment, redness, enlarged pores and dullness respond to different wavelengths — so the first job of a consultation is to name which one you actually have, rather than booking a programme.

A note from Dr. Yang · On laser for Asian skin
“On Asian skin, heat can leave pigment behind. I keep settings conservative, raise them only after I have seen how you healed — and I hold the handpiece myself.”
Jay Yang
Why wavelength matters
A laser only treats what its wavelength reaches and what its target absorbs. This is the whole reason one machine cannot do everything, and why "laser" on a price list means almost nothing on its own.
Schematic. Bar length shows relative penetration depth, not absorption strength or safe energy.

If you are flying in
For a course, we can compress it into one trip at slightly reduced settings, or split it across two visits. Tell us your dates and Dr. Yang will say which is worth it.
Points to know
01
Higher-melanin skin can darken in response to heat. Settings stay conservative and are raised only after we see how you healed.
02
For melasma or a first resurfacing, a small hidden area is treated first so the full pass is informed, not hopeful.
03
Sunscreen discipline and a pigment-suppressing routine matter as much as the device. You leave with both written down.
04
Settings are not handed to a machine operator. Every pass is decided and delivered by Dr. Yang.
For individual dark spots, often yes. For melasma, redness or texture, no — and anyone promising it in one visit is either using settings that are too high or selling something else. Those respond to a course at safe energy.
Yes, if you are disciplined about sun for the two weeks after. Treated skin pigments more readily, so a beach day soon afterwards can undo the session. If your trip includes one, we will treat at the end rather than the start.
Toning, two to three hours. Vascular and pigment laser, one to two days. Fractional resurfacing, three days of redness and rough texture. Makeup is fine from the next morning in every case except resurfacing.
The opposite, when it is done properly — controlled injury stimulates collagen, so skin measures slightly thicker over months. Thinning comes from over-treating, which is why intervals are respected.
A booster hydrates and plumps for weeks; a laser changes pigment and texture for months. Before an event, both in one visit is the usual answer — laser first, booster immediately after.
Plan your visit
Pigment and redness are almost impossible to judge under indoor light. One honest photo by a window, plus your travel dates, is all Dr. Yang needs to write a plan.
