What an exosome is

The message, not the messenger

Cells talk to each other by sending tiny packets of instructions. Those packets are exosomes.

They carry the signals that tell skin to repair itself — to build collagen, to calm inflammation, to behave the way it did when it was younger. Skin that has aged has not forgotten how; it is simply receiving fewer of these instructions.

Most exosome treatments on the market use material from a donor source. Metacell does not. It extracts the exosomes already present in your own plasma, then multiplies how many of them are active — so what goes back into your skin originated in your body an hour earlier.

That is the whole argument for it. Not a stronger ingredient — the same ingredient, from a source your body has no reason to reject.

The process

From your arm, back to your face

01

Draw

A small volume of your own blood, taken in the room. Nothing is ordered in, nothing is stored from a previous visit.

02

Separate

The plasma is isolated, and the exosomes already circulating within it are extracted from it.

03

Activate — PBM

Photo-Thermal BioModulation: five wavelengths of light, held at controlled temperature, raising the number of active exosomes to roughly 299.3 billion per millilitre.

04

Return

Delivered back into your skin the same session, while it is still your own fresh material.

The figure of 299.3 billion per millilitre is the manufacturer's stated activation yield for the PBM process. Your own result depends on your blood, your skin and how many sessions you have.

A note from Dr. Yang · On Metacell

“I put it simply: nothing foreign goes in. Not a stronger ingredient — the same one your skin already uses, taken from your own plasma an hour earlier.”

Recommended for

Whether it suits you, honestly

This treats the quality of the skin itself. It does not lift, and it does not restore structure — so if those are your complaint, start elsewhere.

A good fit

✦Skin that looks dull and tired rather than saggy
✦Recovery after laser, or skin that reacts easily
✦Fine texture, enlarged pores, uneven surface
✦You would rather not have donor-derived material
✦You want to support a lifting result, not replace it

Consider something else

—A jawline that has dropped — that is energy or threads
—Hollow cheeks or a flat mid-face — that is filler
—Melasma or fixed pigment — that is laser
—You expect a visible change from one session
—You cannot have blood drawn, for any reason

The distinction

Not every exosome treatment is the same thing

Questions

Before you ask us

Ask Dr. Yang directly →
How much blood is taken?+

A small volume, closer to a routine blood test than a donation. It is drawn at the start of the appointment and processed while you wait.

How is this different from PRP?+

Both start from your own blood, but PRP returns concentrated platelets. Metacell goes a step further — it isolates the exosomes within the plasma and uses light and heat to raise how many of them are active before they go back in.

How many sessions?+

This is regeneration, not a resurfacing — the change accumulates. Dr. Yang will tell you at the consultation how many sessions your skin realistically needs, and nothing is sold as a prepaid course.

Can it be combined with other treatments?+

It pairs naturally with lifting and laser work, because it treats a different thing — skin quality rather than structure or pigment. The order and spacing are decided in the room, not booked in advance.

Is there any rejection risk?+

The material is your own, which removes the compatibility question that applies to donor-derived products. Ordinary injection-site reactions still apply — see the aftercare section above.

Plan your visit

Ask whether yourskin needs this.

Regenerative treatment is easy to sell and easy to oversell. Dr. Yang will tell you plainly whether your skin is the kind that responds to it.
